8 Ways How HIV is NOT Transmitted

1. Shaking hands with infected people.
2. Hugging infected people.
3. Sharing clothes with infected people.
4. Sharing utelsils with HIV+ people. As such, it is not at all necessary to invest in a separate set of utensils for him/her that you’ll be washing with hot water. Shame on you!
5. Socialising wit HIV+ people.
6. Supporting HIV+ people.
7. Insect bites. Yes, you can sleep in the same room with him/her; mosquito or other bug bites won’t get you infected. Shame on you!
8. Swimming pools. Dont quit swimming just because ‘siku hizi kuna ukimwi’. Again, shame on you!

Discriminating against HIV+ people wont reduce your chances of being infected. It just reveals more of your intrinsic evil. Don’t do it!

  1. This hit close to home – had to leave a comment even though it’s sligtly out of date. Took the test recently and that was interesting – you don’t realise how negative your thinking really is until you are on the hot seat. Made me think that the best way to check our attitude is to put ourselves in that position – that 15 minutes when it could go whichever way is life changing. Guys, get tested!

  2. thanks for your comment ‘anonymous’
I wrote this article after hearing of the grotesque torture of one infected person.

  3. hi valedon,
great list. i have no problem with most of them, but i have to admit no.7 scares me stiff – still learning… if one can get infected from a needle, why not from an insect’s proboscis (is that what they are called?) … and yes, as anon says, getting tested is the way to go.
    have a good weekend.

  4. Hi Mia
yeah no. 7 is scary, but HIV is exclusively human and cant survive on those proboscis things……….I think
